Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Castle Dargan Hotel, situated near Sligo, is praised for its spacious and comfortable rooms, with some guests specifically mentioning the Lake Isle suite in the main house with its period furniture and huge bathroom. The hotel's location within an impressive 18-hole golf course adds to the appeal, and many guests recommend walking to the castle ruins. The breakfast, especially the eggs Benedict and homemade pancakes, often exceeds expectations, although some found the bar/restaurant setting lacking in atmosphere; the terrace overlooking the golf course offers a pleasant alternative.

a mixed stay

spacious roomobstructed viewbasic buffet
the room was spacious and clean, meeting my basic expectations.
i booked a double room, but the promised view was obstructed by overgrown trees (i was so looking forward to that view!). this. the breakfast buffet was quite basic and lacked variety, i felt it did not live up to the hotel's claimed standards.

the staff were very friendly. the complimentary bottle of wine was a nice touch for our special occasion. the room was lovely and warm. the bed felt very comfy.
I stayed for one night. The dessert i had lacked flavour. i had a lemon shaped cheesecake and a pannacotta. They looked good but tasted bland. my partner thought his pint of guinness was not great. he switched to a different drink.
